Team Leader / Head Gardener

Direct Response Employment are delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of a team leader / head gardener to support a contract role in Easingwold, York.
Main duties include grass cutting and strimming, general Grounds Maintenance duties. litter picking, leaf collection, planting bedding, removal of molehills (chemical application if PA1 & PA6 held)
Work within timescale and always demonstrate a high standard of horticultural practice.
PA1 or PA6 Pesticide Certification (essential)
Assist with allocation of work to staff as well as monitoring and planning of work
Allocation of equipment and uniform to staff
Assisting with all matters of health and safety, developing and maintaining communication within teams
Full range of grounds maintenance duties
Work within timescale and always demonstrate a high standard of horticultural practice.
Summer hours: Tues -Thursday 6.30am-16:00pm 26 weeks
Winter Hours-Tues-Thursday 8:00 am-15:30pm 26 weeks
The role will be paid at a 40 hour per week, working shorter hours within the winter months.
The role will be site based but candidates will need own transport to and from site.
