Role: Senior Building Surveyor

Contract: Full-time - Permanent

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 Per Annum, dependent Upon Experience

Location: Homebased

Senior Building Surveyor

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our expanding community.

Reporting directly into the CFO (and CEO) you will drive our organic growth plans to set up new schools and residential homes with young people placed Local Authorities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the process of site development: from identifying new greenfield sites, developing a business case, negotiating the purchase, obtaining planning consents, budgeting build costs to our high specifications, through to completed project ready to open with Ofsted registration.

We have ambitions for organic growth, developing several new schools and homes each year and the Senior Building Surveyor will be assisted by a team of dedicated individuals who, with their direction can lead on individual projects.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Create a strong pipeline of potential new sites to be developed into schools or children's homes. This will include the establishment of strong relationships with agents and developers to identify off market opportunities.
  • The role will involve providing an efficient and effective building surveying service. To design, develop, plan, coordinate, supervise and project manage building Schemes.
  • To work to the professional, technical, and regulatory standards as required and ensure quality of build.
  • Prepare any necessary building regulation or planning applications and monitor and deal with as necessary through discussions with the necessary authorities.
  • Work with operational specialists to ensure all regulatory compliance (Ofsted, LA etc) is in place for new sites.
  • Ensure expenditure is controlled and that projects are completed within budget and on time.
  • Develop and maintain project plans and reporting documentation as necessary to ensure timely communication and successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • To be proactive in sharing information across all staff and companies using a variety of mediums and presentation styles, keeping the business appraised of project plans and related implications.
  • Effectively manage and develop the organic growth team

Requirements:

  • Be a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and be a member of the RICS Registered Valuer Scheme.
  • Have 1-5 years post qualification experience (all levels of post qualification experience will be considered).
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of RICS requirements and all relevant legislation
  • Proven excellent project management and inter-personal skills
  • Previous line management experience in a similar role
  • Experience in stakeholder management and budgets
  • Possess a full valid driving licence
