Our clientis looking to recruit a Safeguarding and Review Manager (CP Chair) for their Childrens services.As a Safeguarding & Review Manager in the Safeguarding and Review Service, you will work with children that Herefordshire cares for. You will chair review meetings, ensuring that all of their children have plans that are child focused, SMART and are achieving positive changes for our children and families. You will provide ongoing oversight, leadership and assurance, driving aspirational practice and improvements across the system. You will need to challenge where the care they offer needs to improve. You will have the opportunity to develop an area of specialist practice knowledge and will be a leader and advocate to enable them to drive quality assurance for their children to improve their outcomes.The role within the Safeguarding and Reviewing Service is stimulating, varied and highly rewarding. You will need to possess the skills and ability to work inclusively with all relevant family members, carers and professionals and understand the skillfuland sensitive use of authority as well as demonstrate excellent chairing skills, together with the ability and confidence to effectively scrutinise and challenge practice where needed. You can also purchase an additional 10 days per annumFlexible working:flexi-time, job-share, part-time hours and, in some instances, home workingEmployee Assistance Programme:24/7 access to support and counsellingPayment ofprofessional membership feesResponsibilities of the Safeguarding & Review Manager:Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence the actions of others and communicate wide ranging information which may be complex and contentiousThe ability to negotiate solutions across wide areas of the service and successfully convince others of the need to take a specific course of action or adopt a specific approach for the safety and protection of childrenThe ability to formulate and oversee plans, within which child safety is promoted, risk is sufficiently managed, permanence is progressed, and aspects of care, development and protection are thoroughly consideredAble to formulate accurate, accessible, and comprehensive reportsThe ability to communicate effectively and sensitively, with children of all ages, capturing and responding to their wishes, feelings and lived experiencesExcellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing needs, in a high pace environmentRequirements of you as the Safeguarding & Review Manager:Professional social work qualification and registered with Social Work EnglandExperience as an IRO, a Child Protection Conference Chair or a team manager (to provide cover in the CP Conference service in times of urgent need)Extensive working knowledge of The IRO handbook, Child Protection Procedures, relevant legislation, regulations and guidance, including Working Together to Safeguard Children.Knowledge of Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Legislative FrameworksPrevious leadership experience within a Children's Social Care environmentComprehensive knowledge of roles and responsibilities of all other agencies involved with childrenSignificant understanding of relevant research, particularly that concerning child development, the effects of separation and loss and attachment theoryA full UK driving licenceDBS clearanceAuthority to work in the UKLocation: Herefordshire areaPlease apply online or reach out to
