Import & Export Logistics Support - Burton Upon Trent - Permanent Role

Salary: £30,000 PA

Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:30, 60-minute break

Silver Arrow are currently recruiting for an Import & Export Logistics Support based in Burton Upon Trent on a permanent basis

Your Role:

• Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients.
• Manage the Middle Eastern exports from the UK factory, checking instructions from HQ.
• Take requests and queries from the customs flow inbound and outbound and resolve them effectively and efficiently within the agreed response times.
• Ensure stock transfers between WHs arrive when planned and needed.
• Support the commercial result with late-night month-end invoicing.
• Manage the inbound deliveries into the local warehouse in the Slot Management tool (SMT), liaising with suppliers and the 3PL provider to ensure smooth changeovers.
• Liaise with 3rd parties, hauliers, HQ, and warehouse operators.
• Cover for export colleagues in the Far Eastern markets when needed.
• Raise purchase orders for certain suppliers.
• Take ownership of the reverse logistics procedures, managing collections, refusals, and delivery discrepancies, investigating with the relevant parties to ensure stock reconciliation, and closing off the process by issuing relevant documents to the end customer.
• POD management with all 3PL's
• Overseeing the implementation of the EPOD.

What we need from you:

• A bachelor's degree in economics, logistics, or engineering (desirable).
• Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics would be advantageous.
• SAP G20 skills would be advantageous.
• Good verbal and written communication to provide a professional image to customers and suppliers.
• Comfortable in an international environment.
• IT literate with excellent Excel skills.
• The capacity to work in a high-pressure environment while remaining calm when under pressure.
• The ability to instruct a global network of agents, suppliers, shipping lines, and hauliers.
• The skill to prioritise a large number of tasks to ensure accuracy and deliver results with great attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.
• A positive attitude, good problem-solving skills, and the ability the ability to apply lessons learned.
• The drive to succeed and the desire to make a contribution to the business.
