Head of Provision, Plymouth WRAP, Primary and Exeter WRAP, ACE SchoolsAn exciting opportunity has arisen for Head of Provision to join ACE Schools, part of Transforming Futures Trust, to lead our Plymouth and Exeter WRAP bases, as well as Primary.Do you want a role which gives you the autonomy to shape provision to meet the individual needs of our pupils within a supportive framework? We support up to 500 pupils each year ranging from Year 1 to Year 11. Pupils that we work with often have complex needs and as a result of this don’t currently attend mainstream or special schools’ settings. Our aspiration for all pupils is that we can support them to return to a specialist or mainstream settings and our focus is providing our young people with the skills necessary to make this transition successful.The successful post holder will lead our bases in Plymouth and Exeter and contribute to the school outreach work with the local authority and other trusts.We are looking for an experienced school leader who is looking for something different. You will have a good understanding of special and/or alternative provision and be used to working with local authority teams and professionals in other agencies and schools.You will be experienced in managing large teams, recruitment, and developing the potential of people at all stages in their career. In this role you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of three sites, each of which provides highly personalised education for between 15 and 30 pupils with complex needs including SEMH. Each site is led by a Lead Teacher reporting to you. Together with a second teacher and Pastoral Lead they manage a team of 20+ mentors who work with the individual children. We also have a dedicated SENCo and two administrators in your team.You will ensure that all pupils receive an outstanding education. As Head of Provision, you will be responsible for the performance management of staff, and developing teaching and learning in the bases. Working in collaboration with SLT and other Leaders you will contribute to the ongoing CPD of all staff and liaise with other agencies, parents and stakeholders to ensure that safeguarding and outcomes for pupils are outstanding.You will ensure that deadlines are met and resources are managed efficiently and oversee Child Protection. You will work with commissioners in the local authority to ensure children are placed in the most appropriate settings to meet their needs and lead on admissions and transitions back into schools.An important aspect is to assist the SENCo in assessing pupils’ needs and ensuring provision packages meet them, with regular reviews. You will also ensure the smooth running of primary statutory assessments, working with our Primary Curriculum Lead, and GCSE and other qualifications at KS4.Accountable to and supported by the SLT, the Head of Provision, together with their peers in the extended leadership team, must support the school in providing vision, leadership and direction for the provision ensuring it is managed to meet and surpass ACE’s aims and targets.If you have an interest in working within alternative education, have a desire to help make a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable pupils in Plymouth and Exeter, and become part of arguably the most morally driven group of staff in the country, then we would like to hear from you.How to applyPlease send a completed application form in Word format to ##### .
