What’s the role?
Head of People is a global role within our People and Strategy Leadership Team and will shape our strategic evolution by redesigning and leading our people partnering, operations, reward, and business support teams. We’re looking for an experienced HR specialist who has a strong understanding of People Systems along with excellent leadership skills, strategic alignment capabilities and a passion to enhance our culture of partnership, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Ideally, you’ll be based in the East of Scotland so you can easily go to our H/O in Dundee every month for in person meetings with our Exec, leadership, and colleagues. The opportunity is being offered as a 12-month contract working directly for Insights.
Day to day you’ll focus on:
People Partnering and Organisation Development:Develop and coach a high-performing experienced People Partnering team, embed effective ways of working to develop and sustain high-performing teams. Supporting the partnering team as strategic people partners who drive organisational effectiveness, employee engagement and leadership development and ensure performance and people plans are in place and supported through constructive conversations to embed accountability, foster high performance, and identify talent.
Strategic Alignment and Collaboration:Collaborate closely with the Director of People & Strategy to align people initiatives and partner with key stakeholders to drive change management initiatives and facilitate organisational growth and development.
People Systems Transformation:Drive the transformation of people systems to streamline and optimise transactional processes and create capacity for People Partners to focus on value-adding, strategic activities and ensure the effective and efficient operation of reward and payroll processes
People Processes and Policies:Evolve and optimise people processes and policies to align with the organisation's growth ambitions, promoting agility, fairness, and inclusivity along with continuously reviewing and enhancingHR practices to drive employee engagement, retention, and organisational effectiveness.
Executive Business Support: Providing guidanceto the Business Support Team to deliver effective, aligned, and efficient services to the executive team and across the organisation as well as providing mentorship, guidance, and support to team members.
What you’ll bring
As a senior leader you’ll bring motivation, inspiration and a focus on the development and growth of your team.
Demonstrable expertise in Organisation Development, People Partnering and act as the ambassador for change by demonstrating good practice and building capability and competence across the teams you manage
Significant leadership experience in HR, learning and development, organisational effectiveness, or related fields.
An understanding of HR systems and processes, with experience in leading system implementations and process improvements.
A proven track record in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and programmes that support organisational objectives and compliance requirements
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable HR strategies and initiatives.
Results-oriented with a focus on driving performance and delivering measurable outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
