FLT Operator

Connect Appointments have an exciting opportunity for a FLT Operator to join and strengthen our client's existing team in West Yorkshire.

Our client is a privately-owned and highly successful logistics, construction and maintenance business employing over 2000 people across the UK. We have ONE vacancy available based in Castleford and ONE based in Leeds - access to your own transport would be beneficial for the Leeds vacancy.

The successful candidate must possess a valid Counterbalance FLT Licence, as well as experience of working in a bonded warehouse and have an understanding of FLT/logistics operations. This includes, but is not limited to: picking stock, case picking, loading and unloading trailers and general handling of various palletised case goods. Experience of operating narrow-aisle trucks in a racking environment and/or clamp/push pull trucks for loading containers is also desirable.

Your main duties will involve:

• Placing focus on health and safety in the workplace
• Scanning of inbound and outbound goods
• Carrying out manual procedures
• Loading and unloading goods
• Preparing trailers and securing loads
• Completing all relevant paperwork

The successful FLT Operator will have:

• Experience operating a forklift truck in a warehouse or waste environment (essential)
• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence
• Knowledge of FLT operations, including picking stock, general handling of palletised goods and case picking
