We are seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to work as part of the Pennine Initial Response Service (IRS), based at Daisyfield Mill, Blackburn. The post is full time (10PA). The postholder will also be expected to participate on the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable.Main duties of the jobThe overall aim of the IRS Team is to be the point of initial referral and assessment in Pennine Lancashire for people aged 16 years and over presenting with mental health needs. This team will be the first point of contact for GPs for both crisis and non-emergency mental health referrals and will act as the gateway service to those who may require access to specialist mental health services. The Consultant will provide Medical Leadership within the IRS Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and will work with medical and non-medical colleagues as part of MDT working. There is no responsibility for inpatients as part of this role. Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be included on the Specialist register of the GMC or they should be eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date. It is a requirement that applicants are Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment and have or are eligible to have Approved Clinician Status. Remuneration will be as set out in the terms of the New Consultant Contract according to previous experience.About usThe role:
